Environmental Education Officer at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a National Diploma in Natural Sciences or Environmental Management.
• A valid Code EB driver’s licence (the incumbent will be required to obtain a municipal driver’s licence during the probationary period).
• Registration as Peace Officer (an added advantage).
• One to two years’ relevant work experience.

Key attributes and competencies:

• Practical and theoretical knowledge of the natural environment.
• Sound writing, communication and teaching/presentation skills to interact with scholars and members of the public at all levels.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other official local language (essential).
• Negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Interpretative skills in respect of legislation and regulations.
• Computer literacy.
