Job Purpose

• To provide administrative support to the faculty, staff and students.
• To fulfill a key role in the interface with the university, faculty, students, public and industry.
• To display and implement sound administrative principles and skills during the admission and registration process, as well as the identification of potential graduates.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent 
• At least two (2) years relevant experience in a faculty office or academic/student administration support department environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge and familiar with systems like MAS, Blackboard, APS, as well as ITS, amongst others

Recommendation:

• A relevant National Diploma or equivalent qualification

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Administration and processing of admission, registration, student records, examinations and graduation
• Assisting with student registration and amendments on ITS
• Identification of graduates
• Processing of applications
• Liaison with internal/external stakeholders
• Render general office administration and maintenance of filing system
• Accurate recording administration
• Database administration, for example capturing of subject weights
• Receiving, compiling and summarizing all required documents for relevant faculty committee meetings
• Checking for completeness and correctness of relevant documents
• Preparing of templates for submission to Faculty Management and Senex
• Involved in computation of marks
