Field Service Technician - eMalahleni at Komatsu Mining

Job Overview

The position will be based at Sasol Secunda Irenedale Mine and the incumbent will report to the Site Manager.

Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and Customer.

Key Job Responsibilities
Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

• Maintain / repair Joy equipment
• Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections
• Customer support in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and to achieve lowest cost per ton
• Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance
• Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping
• Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimisation
• Travel between Mines for maintenance / repairs
• Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and Customer
• Write clear reports

Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum Skills and experience required

• Matric / N3
• Fully qualified Electrician / Millwright with Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates
• Must have done Joy relevant courses
• Must be computer and database literate (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• JNA I and Faceboss 2 experience is crucial
• DC & AC shuttle cars that are KMC cars experience is required
• Minimum of 05 years’ experience on underground equipment
• Experience in workshop assembly and manufacturing techniques will be beneficial
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential with an ability to communicate with customers and to accept and adopt a competent, responsible attitude
