Front of House Manager at Distell

What Will You Be Up To –

• Perform all front of house activities from handling reservations to welcoming guests in a professional manner
• Understand menu formation, ingredients, food preparations and cooking styles including information relating to food allergies
• Identify and analyse front office operational challenges and facilitate the development of workable solutions with the broader team, Kitchen, Wine Tasting, Conferencing etc.
• Be a natural leader, who will ensure the team are well trained and briefed at all times
• Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction, creating memorable moments
• Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed
• Use interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others
• Advocate sound financial/business decision making skills with the aim of driving sales and increasing visitor numbers
• Create a positive team environment between Front of House, Kitchen and Wine Tasting
• Handle a high-quality offering without supervision
• Be conscious and aware of all health, safety and hygiene protocol

To be brilliant in this role, you will preferably have –

• Hospitality Diploma or equivalent
• 3 Years relevant experience
• Fluent in English and second language
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
• Agile and change fit
• Able to work in a busy restaurant environment
• Above average interpersonal skills and be able to engage on all levels
• Computer literacy in MS Office Suite
• Be able to work independently and cope under pressure
• A valid driver’s licence
