Functional Analyst III at Expleo Group

• The purpose of this role is to ensure that efficient and cost-effective business solutions and processes are in place to address business needs/requirements. The role facilitates effective and competitive business processes by eliciting, analysing, validating, and documenting business organisational and/or operational requirements. This role plays an instrumental role in the delivery teams to ensure that solutions are delivered according to the business requirements. The Lead Functional Analyst works closely with a cross-functional team and supports system designers with co-creating sustainable and innovative solutions. Specialised knowledge of systems analysis, and the creation and testing of highly complex applications , will be a key success factor in providing relevant designs/technical solutions and practical configuration execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and technical analysis of highly complex business requirements/solutions , document and translate these into a feasible fit-for-purpose design/technical solution and author detailed functional specifications for developers to deliver working functionality.
• Specify testing, training, definition, and implementation of standardised procedures for support of practical business solutions.
• Lead development / configuration initiatives.
• In consultation with own and other Team Leads prioritise and plan projects .
• Act as technical lead, guide, instruct and coordinate work of Functional Analysts I & II .
• Ensure that all own and Functional Analyst I and II allocated work/commitments are met . (Reference to sprint can be made in the Portfolio when reflecting this point in the portfolios)
• Lead and perform complex gap analyses to determine and understand the functional business requirements and changes as defined by the Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
• Identify problem areas, measure various areas of performance, propose changes, and develop process improvement initiatives .
• Support Functional Analys t team with intricate gap analysis where specialised input is required.
• Ensure effective system and service performance monitoring and proactive improvement
• Investigate and analyse customer expectations appropriately provide guidance to the client on the most suitable solution, ensuring that all recommendations are achievable within the scope of the product and ensures effective user requirement definition and analysis activities & sets expectations appropriately.
• Identify risks, review gaps, and use and transform defined business requirements into a clear and understandable third-party vendor build requests. Complete change CRD to send to the Vendor.
• Guide the development of a more permanent solution.
• Investigates incidents and ensures that the resolution is agreed between all parties, coordinates, and assists the developers where required.
• Participates in the Disaster Recovery Trials.
• Perform and/or oversee complex systems integration and coordinate the provision of support to systems designers in the identification of data conversion and reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively within and across functions, sharing best practices knowledge and expertise with cross-functional partners and providing support on complex problems, integration of findings or presentation of results, requiring expertise. 
• Build and maintain a trust relationship with business and IT stakeholders by delivering what was promised and providing expert technical and functional knowledge and guidance to the team as well as system users.
• Act as a technical systems specialist during the selection, deployment, and configuration of new systems in the organization.
• Monitor, support and ensure the implementation of all or assigned release changes, creation, and implementation of new system requirements in special projects
• Estimate, assign responsibility, schedule, prioritise and manage and coordinate delivery on business-critical projects.
• This includes accurate and justifiable effort estimations for completion of work, identifying business and functional dependencies to effectively prioritise and schedule delivery of work packages and providing accurate and concise feedback to management, highlighting task status, issues, and risks.
• Analyse test requirements and test scenarios . Oversee preparation of test scripts and configuration and execution of scenarios.
• Ensure detailed, accurate and auditable test documentation is maintained according to required IT standards.
• Seek to continuously improve software quality, testing tools, testing processes and testing environments.
• Provide input into training, testing and related procedures and processes to support delivery of the solution(s).
• Develop and manage post-implementation go-live support environment. Perform quality assurance and code review along with mentoring of QA standards.
• Provide troubleshooting direction on system related issues and channel transactional data. Oversight for proactive identification and timeous resolution of technical issues while ensuring accurate tracking and reporting on systems/software defects. Gather user issues, analyse , prioritize and document using JIRA.
• Root Cause Analysis & Incident Management – Effectively conduct Incident management individually, in team and in cooperation with other support teams. 
• Coordinate & Diagnose errors and breakdowns and support developers, and architects to unpack defects in the development pipeline order to find the root cause and perform technical support as needed.
• Provide expertise and lead the definition of the scope of a solution and ensure an understanding of the scope by relevant stakeholders.
• Present functional designs to multiple functional areas and obtain agreement and sign off from all concerned users and stakeholders on the suggested design and solution.
• Provide expert input on complex alternatives presented by the system designers and answer detailed questions regarding the business design and applicable configuration options.
• Execute and lead the customisation of solutions according to the requirements of the respective business area, ensuring the system reacts and operates within the confines of the request.
• These include converting highly complex business requirements into customised configurations , maintaining configuration guides for applied customising, and identifying and resolving design decisions with business and IT owners.
• Provide input to the guides or training on how to use specific technologies, features, or software programs.
• Drive deliverables in compliance with the system lifecycle, monitoring and updating project progress to ensure delivery on project plans and proactive mitigation of potential risks.
• Monitor business support processes and system functionality for accuracy and efficiency after a process, application, or project implementation, instituting necessary changes as needed.
• Conducts product demonstration and report generation on sample analysis
• Keep up to date on System capabilities, changes, and functionality to ensure the feedback they provide stays relevant and are best for the end User and Team.
• Continuously support the business environment , through maintaining an understanding of initiatives and objectives, its various line portfolios, and the current trends and developments in the technology field. 
• Champion agile methodologies and best practices and/or other agreed cross-functional team ways of working and help foster a culture of collaboration, commitment, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint review/ demo etc.)

Qualifications

• 3-year IT qualification - (essential)
• Business Analyst / Functional Analyst course or similar - (essential)
• MS SQL fundamentals (Introduction to SQL) Certification - (essential)
• MS SQL - Querying data with Transact Certification - (desired)
• +6 years’ experience in a Senior Functional Analyst or similar role – (essential).
• Relevant and demonstrable experience in functional analysis, configuration, and user testing - (essential).
• Experience in software testing - (essential).
• IT Support and Operations knowledge – (essential).
• Working knowledge of different operating systems and Internet technologies - (essential) .
• Experience in a Retail and or Financial Services industry - (essential).
• Capable of vendor management - (essential).
• Knowledge of Project Management principles - (essential).
• Incident management system knowledge - (desirable).
• Experience of working on projects within the Software Development Life Cycle – (desirable)
