    General Manager: Fleet

    Job Purpose

    • General Manager: Fleet is responsible for leading and growing the organisation’s national fleet sales function through strategic planning, strong customer relationship management, and tactical leadership.
    • The role ensures legal and corporate compliance, drives sales and financial performance, develops and maintains key fleet customer partnerships, and oversees the full sales pipeline to achieve volume and revenue targets.
    • It further provides leadership in people development, operational excellence, and the implementation of business strategies that enhance customer experience, optimise productivity, and support long-term organisational objectives.

    Minimum Experience

    • 5- 8 years' experience in a similar environment, of which at least 2 - 3 years' managerial experience

    Minimum Requirements

    • Valid driver's license
    • In Possession of a valid Drivers License in terms of relevant legislation requirements.
    • A broad understanding of the motor and/or the logistics and /or transport industry and legislation relating thereto.

    GENERIC JOB OUTPUTS

    PROCESS

    • Adhere to current legal compliance, e.g. FICA regulation, POPI Act and Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and others.
    • Analyse, interpret and produce detailed reports that explain trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies.
    • Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans to support multi-functional strategic objectives in conjunction with other business units.
    • Implement corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics policies in multiple practice areas in order to identify and manage risk liabilities.
    • Manage and report on sales and financial performance.
    • Manage the effective resolution of customer complaints, ensuring problems are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Manage the leads process of prospective customers and ensure timeous follow-up on possible sales.
    • Provide support to ensure sufficient dealer activities and engagement with all fleet clients to facilitate fleet sales.

    FINANCE

    • Contribute to the development of budget and manage budget effectively.
    • Contribute to the setting of budgets, minimise expenditure and manage costs and assets effectively.
    • Develop a volume forecast for the fleet market, taking into consideration the demand from fleet customers.
    • Develop, implement and monitor a cycle of medium term cost improvements.

    CLIENT

    • Develop and maintain relationships of mutual trust with all fleet customers.
    • Develop and manage sustainable relationships with customers that contribute to a culture of customer service excellence.
    • Introduce the Renault brand in terms of products, service and offerings for internal and external customers.
    • Plan and deliver services and/or products that create a culture which aims to exceed customer' expectations in the business.
    • Prepare service delivery excellence plans for customers and ensure implementation.
    • Develop and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with corporate and fleet clients by engaging proactively, understanding their strategic business needs, and ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality service and solutions.
    • Develop and cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with dealership networks to enhance engagement, ensure alignment with fleet sales strategies, and drive sustainable sales performance.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leasing companies and financial institutions, negotiating favourable financing structures and partnership arrangements that support fleet sales growth and enhance value for corporate clients.

    • Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition.
    • Develop and implement change management initiatives.
    • Develop and implement people strategies in line with service delivery, performance objectives and budgets.
    • Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
    • Own and live up to company values.
