General Manager - Supply Chain & Procurement at Caterpillar Inc.

This leadership role involves overseeing a team of 5 individuals in South Africa, including 2 in procurement and 3 in BBBEE space. The manager will supervise, direct, and coach the team while interfacing with business partners in the region.

What You Will Do:

• Lead a team of 5 individuals, providing supervision, direction, and coaching to ensure effective performance.
• Manage the overall design and development of procurement solutions, collaborating with senior stakeholders and business users.
• Execute key strategic initiatives such as the development of standardized best practices, offerings, services, and associated tools & training.
• Drive adoption of procurement and BBBEE programs, identifying continuous improvement opportunities and mitigating risks.
• Conduct contract negotiations and manage procurement and supply chain activities.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support manufacturing and supply chain operations.
• Interface with all entities in South Africa, ensuring alignment with regional business priorities.
• Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management, leveraging data analytics and effective communication techniques.
