Four years qualification (NQF 8) in Environmental Health, Aquatic Health or Microbiology with Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology and/or molecular biology as a major.
Experience in research projects and techniques that can be applied in the field of Microbiology, Toxicology, Aquatic Health or Molecular Biology testing.
Primary Duties
Development of specialised investigations related to the implementation of new methods or upgrading of methods in the fields of microbiology, aquatic toxicology, molecular biology or human health.
Performance of analysis and trouble shouting related to media, test methods and instrumentation.
Documentation and checking of results on the identified databases.
Performance and documentation of all quality control checks of identified analytical test according to the ISO 17025 accreditation system.
Undertaking maintenance of equipment/instrumentation and keeping of appropriate documentation.
Adherence to SHE practices and good housekeeping principles in the area of work
