    Group Marketing Strategy & Capability Manager

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • To work closely with the Group Marketing Director focusing on the Marketing Strategy and Capability portfolio. You need to be agile to work on any part of the Strategy portfolio as required. You will support the business units in the creation of an integrated strategy and defined Marketing Functional strategies as a guardrail.  As part of the development of the strategy and driving continuous improvement you will work with cross-functional business partners to ensure Marketing functional models are in synergy with other functional and unlock business performance. You will support Strategic Projects that are aligned on delivery of the Strategic agenda. You will champion the Marketing capability and drive adoption within the business Units. You will also be pro-active in monitoring trends and opportunities in the market and test relevance for Tiger’s portfolio – existing and future. 

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Work with the Group Marketing Director to develop the Annual 5 Year roadmap for Tiger which incorporates the category strategies, functional strategies and strategic projects 
    • Support the Marketing strategy and Marketing inputs in the Corporate Strategy process 
    • Participate in key discussions with the business units and functional stakeholders to support the development of their respective strategies
    • Work with the Group Marketing Director to ensure that a consistent strategic agenda is maintained, prioritized and discussed for all executive committee and board level meetings 
    • Work with the Consumer Insights Group to maintain a robust view of the market landscape including market share shifts, relative competitive insights, and business models across the entire consumer journey
    • Define and lead Marketing function change management initiatives to step change functioning of the Marketing within the organization
    • Own and/or drive strategic projects that are part of the Strategic Agenda – supporting tracking and continuous improvement with the Marketing function
    • Champion the Tiger Marketing Capability programme and related skills and competencies in partnership with Learning & Development partners and driving adoption within the business units and build an appreciation of the Marketing function cross-functionally 
    • Proactively keep abreast of market conditions and opportunities which should be evaluated for relevance within the current or future Tiger portfolio

    • Effectiveness at embedding the strategy development process within the organization
    • Quality of strategy development process
    • Compiling presentation decks which tell a compelling story using relevant data and examples 
    • Realisation of identified strategic projects for the organization

    Qualifications

    Key attributes and competencies

    • Strategic aptitude – the ability to understand relevant market trends and deduce their impact on the companies operating environment 
    • Problem Solver & Storyteller – the ability to strategically frame challenges and opportunities
    • Commercial edge – strong commercial focus to ensure strategy, plans, new business opportunities and strategic initiatives are evaluated and managed in a robust manner
    • Project Management - robust project planning and management aptitude

    Experience

    • Tertiary qualification (3-year degree or higher) and 5 to 10 years Strategy experience
    • Experience in the Strategy Development, Finance and Project Management fields preferable
    • Prior experience in FMCG desirable 
    • Cross-functional and multi-national business experience
    • Skilled at developing cross-functional processes that clearly identify interdependencies
