Head of Infrastructure at Derivco

Responsibilities

• The Head of Infrastructure will be responsible for our infrastructure and cloud platform providing a foundation to run gaming platform reliably .
• Develop a fully detailed documented reference infrastructure architecture and roadmap across industry recognised capabilities
• Lead the team bringing a broad service understanding with focus on proactive methodical delivery and releasing business value from adoption and use of technology.
• Flexible and accommodating regarding their working day, Due to the strategic and operational nature of the position and reliance on IT Infrastructure to deliver business needs.
• Lead, train and grow system and infrastructure teams to solve core engineering problems keeping our foundational services reliable and scalable
• Set and raise the technical bar, evaluate new products, vendors, and create POCs to improve the teams’ overall efficiency
• Take an active role in prioritizing the roadmap for the infrastructure organisation
• Drive cross-team and cross-org alignment in infrastructure, and product teams
• Partner with other Senior Leadership members to achieve reliability outcomes for their services
• Proactively find, communicate, report, fix bugs and define process improvements
• Take the initiative to reach across team boundaries to achieve both IT and company wide objectives
• Keeping abreast of relevant technological developments / solutions within industry and their area of expertise

Skills Required

• Demonstrated ability of collaborating and co-ordinating on cross-team projects and workflows
• Ability to provide a strong technical vision for systems and infrastructure teams
• Demonstrated experience building services and systems, have successfully taken projects from inception to production, and are comfortable diving in to provide leadership for major projects when needed
• Ability to lead a discussion with upper management, and are able to tailor the level of technical detail to suit your audience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience successfully working with distributed teams across time zones.

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years relevant experience inclusive of the following:-

• Minimum of 5 years’ operations experience in a high volume data centre and cloud environment
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a large team of 25 or more managing distributed systems, tooling and infrastructure management
• Relevant degree / diploma in Computer Science and/or Business
