    Influencer and Events Manager

    Job Description :

    • To drive recruitment and build strong mental availability of our brands amongst consumers by engaging them in key occasions with memorable and relevant brand experiences and ensuring these are amplified for massive reach. To lead culture through consistent consumer engagement in moments that matter with our iconic brands. Ultimate result being delivering profitable growth for Diageo South Africa.
    • Accountable for the development and delivery of all consumer events as well as the amplification of all marketing activities, events & activations via PR.  They will build and utilize a network of key influencers & media to drive effective and exciting activations and cultural relevance across all of our brands, in order to create a step change in the effectiveness and efficiency of our events spend.

     

    • Lead the development & delivery of the executional plans with clear KPIs to drive cultural relevance, events and sampling programs for all key brands.
    • Work with the marketing teams & the eventing channel (commercial/sales) to define the appropriate goals, budgets and strategies to deliver the events calendar.
    • Ensure the events programmes for all key brands is optimized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Build a network of media & influencers (industry experts, bar tending communities, critical consumer communities, celebrities, bloggers and community leaders) and leverage them to build cultural relevance, positive endorsement and support for our key brands & events.
    • Leverage media & influencer relationships to drive brand advocacy, recommendations and trial.
    • Manage the PR & Eventing agency base to ensure that we have the right agencies and people within the agencies to effectively deliver our business plans & are executing efficient and effective plans.
    • Challenge standard practice to ensure Diageo is known as the best and most innovative in events execution as well as PR amplification.
    • Drive marketing effectiveness (return on investment) continually.
    • Own culture of compliance within the PR & events space both internally & externally, ensuring full compliance to DMC, GAR and CARM requirements.
    • Consolidate reporting on key initiatives and performance and intervene where required.
    • Search and Spin initiatives across the region.
