Intermediate SQL Developer at DigiOutsource

Purpose Of The Role

A role exists for an Intermediate SQL Developer in an online organization with a good history and strong BI Team. This role requires a motivated, energetic, inquisitive and highly numerate person who has a solid technical base but also possesses an appreciation for numbers and understands the value that can be derived from interrogating them.

Duties Include, But Not Limited To

• Integration of new sources of data into company databases so that it can also be analysed and included in relevant processes and reports
• Integration of data into relevant workflow processes, with the specific aim of continuously improvement and data optimization
• Work with all levels of development from analysis through implementation and support
• Develop and test issues aligned to specifications
• Work with the project team across functional areas
• Analysis of data from various sources to ensure that the business acts proactively on the information at its disposal
• Continually searching for new and useful ways to obtain, integrate and analyze data that is relevant to the company’s business model
• Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality

Essential Criteria

• Matric with 3 years relevant work experience or Undergraduate degree with majors in Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar. Alternatively, at least 3 years work experience in a business intelligence role will be considered.
• 3-5 Years’ experience with relational databases, writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures and functions (candidate must be willing to support legacy SQL server systems in a business critical context)
• Programming experience in Python (Preferred) or another object orientated language, Java (would be a plus), c# (would be a plus)
• Experience building data pipelines
• Data visualization and reporting experience
• Be able to give accurate technical estimates
• Conceptualizing new solutions based on business requirements
• Demonstrates consistent behaviour aligned to the Combiined F and Organizational Culture

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of data modeling (Normal Form, etc) - is highly beneficial
• Exposure to event streaming technologies, such as Kafka
• Experience with or knowledge of Docker or something similar
• Experience with or knowledge of K8 (Kubernetes)
• Experience with Avro, Protobuff (serialization, de-serialization)
• Knowledge of SOA / Micro-services
• Knowledge of design patterns & Programming Styles
