    Inventory Controller - Brits

    Role purpose 

    • To control and manage all tasks related to inventory management.
    • Perform physical tasks, such as the use of moving and lifting machinery to go verify stock quantities, movements, or reconciliations.
    • Perform, as per policy and procedures, stock and cycle counts for all locations where material is stored for both export and local plants.
    • Support warehouse manager to audit compliance to Quality and warehouse processes procedures, correct labelling, expiry dates and inventory movements.
    • Support the 3 weeks firm plan, by that no stock issues to block picking material for production
    • Responsible for production orders control, consumption on time and escalate any issue with relevant departments to avoid accruals.
    • Maintain all documentation related to warehousing operations.

    Accountabilities

    • Develop and implement an annual inventory counting plan in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations.
    • Control perpetual inventory stock counting and investigate discrepancies, shortages to minimize overstocks and remove redundant and obsolete materials.
    • Ensure materials are available and meet quality standards by running relevant reports (MB52, MMBE, LL01) and taking necessary actions.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data of materials, including AGIs, classifications, and locations.
    • Support warehouse and Quality teams by running QA33 reports, ensuring inspection lots are in place and compliance with COA process.
    • Utilize LX03 / LX02 reports to ensure adherence to material segregation procedures and maximize BIN and rack usage.
    • Adherence to production efficiency reporting standards and working on continuous improvement on KPIs’ accuracy via review stock variances, and analyze material usage variances from production to provide recommendations.
    • Collaborate with warehouse manager to improve inventory control processes and procedures, considering past learnings and addressing SAP issues.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of inventory, transfers, in-transit shipments, and cycle counts.
    • Foster good working relationships with warehouse, planning, logistics, and production teams by effectively communicating and addressing concerns.
    • Resolve technical issues related to stock promptly and log calls with SAP/IT, escalating to stakeholders when necessary.
    • Generate daily reports prioritizing Bin and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock reconciliation.
    • Assist in annual financial audits by archiving production order documents and ensuring readiness for audit purposes.
    • Continuously enhance knowledge of dangerous goods warehousing, transport, and safe handling practices.
    • Verify goods receipts, stock transfers, and COA compliance, ensuring correct quantities and references.
    • Support the planning team in analyzing material expiry dates to prevent write-offs, facilitate redeployments, and trigger re-orders. Maintain real-time stock visibility using SAP, SNM, and inventory reports.
    • Periodically perform physical-to-system inventory reconciliations, take necessary corrective actions for discrepancies, and report findings to the warehouse manager.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, experience & capabilities

    Critical knowledge and experience

    • Inventory control understanding and demonstration
    • Knowledge of Warehouse & Distribution management
    • Certificate for dangerous goods handling
    • Min 3 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
    • Min Level 5 qualification is required
    • Forklift truck driving certificate.
    • Achieved minimum requirements on the motor mechanics assessment.
    • Basic knowledge of CP products.
    • Driver’s license.

    Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

    • Minimum 3-year experience in warehousing dangerous goods.
    • Min 3 years’ experience in fork-lift manipulation.
    • Min 5 year experience in SAP R3 / WMS system
    • Strong physical health.
    • Time management ability.
    • Communication skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and stressful conditions.
    • Ability to reconcile and count stock.
    • Ability to do warehouse functions and lead a team.
    • A proactive and good team player.
    • Leadership with good role model  
    • Good Positive Attitude.
    • Actively participate in all HSE programs.
