    Inventory Controller

    The Job

    • Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in Distribution, based in Ladysmith. This person will report to the Ops Manager, Ladysmith.

    Purpose Statement of the Position
    The effective management of inventory received, stored and despatched to ensure OTIF delivery of quality products and achievement of financial imperatives. Act as the custodian of the Warehouse Management System at site level (Super User).

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • A relevant 1 - 2 Yr Dip / Adv Nat Cert / Special Secondary School (Post School) / 2 Yrs College / Tech College Dip / Vocational Certificates / NVQ 3 / Tech Understanding / A Level (AS plus A2 level) / IBDP - 2 Yr Programme / 'NQF' Level 5 & 6 in Logistics / Supply Chain
    • Up To 6 Months minimum total years of relevant experience in FMCG Logistics / Distribution Environment
    • Computer literacy in MS Office, SAP, Success Factors
    • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills
    • The ability to work after hours and / or shifts if necessary

    • Has knowledge of financial principles (e.g. budgets, capital, gross income) and the ability to apply financial principles and to analyse, interpret and report figures correctly

    • Has knowledge of warehousing management principles and the ability to manage a warehouse through space utilisation, effective delivery and human resources utilisation within the warehouse

    Delivery

    • Is able to bring innovative approach to Delivery and customer service as a value-adding component by driving the effective, efficient flow of goods, services and information from the point of supply to the point of demand

    Data Savvy

    • Is able to gather, analyse, interpret and present relevant quantitative and qualitative data to inform critical people strategies and decisions and measure, and benchmark the impact of SO practices against agreed functional metrics and standards

    Regulations, Governance, risk management

    • Is able to understanding and applying Rules and Regulations, which assist the movement of goods and services across geographical boundaries and commercial entities

    Customer Service Levels Management

    • Is able to constantly anticipate, understand and action what customers want from their suppliers and partners

    Product Knowledge

    • Has knowledge of Company’s products and product categories in order to act as Brand Crafters and to better understand the Company

    Capability Build and People Practices

    • Has knowledge and skills to attract, develop, care for and retain high calibre individuals, in the correct position. The ability to motivate and use skills in coaching, counselling and mentoring to grow talent and ensure succession planning

    • Is able to act as a strategic business partner by understanding the needs of their key stakeholders against organisational goals, designing and implementing SO solutions which meet these requirements whilst delivering a high degree of perceived satisfaction.
