    IT Desktop Support Technician

    PRIMARY PURPOSE

    Support for all IT systems that Wilderness uses.  This includes software as well as hardware.

    *This position can be based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town.

    Detailed Responsibilities

    • Provide all staff with quick efficient and accurate support when required to do so.
    • To ensure that all staff are able to perform their work functions.
    • To increase staff productivity where possible.
    • To ensure effective electronic communication with suppliers, customers and the different regions within Wilderness.
    • To ensure that hardware is effectively incorporated into the current system without causing any downtime or unwanted reactions.
    • Be involved in the design, implementation and maintenance of electronic mail systems and giving support to designers of the system and managing certain aspects of the systems.
    • Be involved in building, installing and setting up of servers, laptops and desktops.
    • Regional IT support.
    • Active directory design and maintenance.
    • To protect sensitive data, give users access to resources on the network.
    • Compliment mail distribution system.
    • Compliment reservations systems

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Qualification:

    • BSC Computer Science or equivalent.
    • An understanding networking and Microsoft Systems.

    Experience:                    

    • Experience in handling customer relationships and developing and promoting customer satisfaction.

    Skills:              

    • Team worker with the ability to interface with staff and third parties.
    • Passionate and creative in service offering, dedicated to customer satisfaction.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
    • Service and result orientated.
    • Self-Starter with high energy levels.
    • Accuracy in service offering.
    • Problem solver, organised, methodical, Systems based and good time management skills.
    • Ability to work with detail whilst under pressure and takes pride in maintaining zero error.
