IT Monitoring Core Engineer at Derivco

The role is responsible for the implementation and configuration of real-time monitoring, alerting and reporting of the infrastructure (Network, Servers, Storage, Databases, Applications etc.) at the MGS hosting sites around the world. Job Responsibilities

• Consulting for
• Grafana issues/questions
• PagerDuty issues/questions
• Kibana Issues/questions
• Provide audit data to SRE’s and Product teams to facilitate effective post mortem reports for business outage investigations
• Automate routine tasks within the team
• Serve as an initial contact point to service requests coming into the team work pipeline
• Ensure all work requests are logged via the ticketing system and work request SLA's are met
• Build and maintain up to date observability dashboards as requested by stakeholders
• Ensure quality documentation exists for all projects and platform architectural changes
• Ensure effective PagerDuty platform administration
• Work with product teams to ensure effective monitoring exists for all our products and services across the various business units
• Provides 24/7 monitoring platform support to ensure all business monitoring objectives are met
• Run POC’s of new technology working in conjunction with the relevant seniors and technical specialists in the various business areas

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 1-year experience with enterprise and open source monitoring solutions for networks and applications, such as SCOM, Nagios, Influx, Grafana, StatsD, Solarwinds, Zenoss
• Basic system administration experience (Windows or Linux)
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell or python pref.)
• Basic SQL query skills
• Knowledge of Splunk, Elastic and the ELK stack in general (Very advantageous)
• Knowledge of server performance counters and web server technology (IIS, NGINX etc.)
• Any relevant Infrastructure or Cloud Certification
