The role:
The IT Services Manager oversees the administration of Valenture Institute’s core IT systems, hardware and physical infrastructure. The role involves servicing the evolving IT needs of a large, rapidly expanding, distributed, “remote-first” workforce.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the administration of core IT systems.
Draft and maintain appropriate IT policies and documentation.
IT Services team leadership, mentoring, upskilling and performance management.
Support the DS&T Engineering team with IT system configuration and integrations.
Oversee networking, access control, printing, AV and connectivity at Valenture Institute boutique campuses and offices.
Identify and implement protocols, tooling and automations to control access to all IT systems - e.g. employee onboarding and offboarding.
Determine hardware requirements and manage device profiles for company-wide roles.
Full device lifecycle management including forecasting, budgeting, procurement, setup, distribution, asset tracking, patching, warranty, recovery, repair and decommissioning.
Reporting against agreed KPIs.
Liaise with external consultants to perform IT security audits and compliance with appropriate ITSM standards. Implement appropriate security measures and perform routine and proactive security audits and tests.
Identification of IT-related risks and execution of appropriate mitigation strategies.
Budget optimisation and management for relevant IT services.
Oversee the delivery of highly responsive desktop support to employees.
IT vendor selection, contract negotiation and SLA management.
Forecasting, usage optimisation and management of licenses across multiple systems.
Implementation of automations and integrations to streamline operations.
Execution of IT-related compliance, governance and data security initiatives as they pertain to POPIA, GDPR and other appropriate legislation.
DNS, SSL certificate management.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in IT field (e.g. Information Systems)
Minimum of 5 years experience managing IT teams servicing hundreds of employees
Experience administering large and complex Google Workspace configurations
Device management experience using Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, Autopilot, Solarwinds
Expertise managing Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems
Experience with POPI, GDPR and/or other relevant legislation
Ability to build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent communication skills

Customer service mindset
Advantageous:
Experience administering Google Workspace for Education
Salesforce administration experience
Experience managing IT needs for a large “remote-first” workforce
Relevant AWS certifications
Experience implementing ITSM standards such as ISO 20000
