    Junior Events Coordinator

    About the Job

    Job purpose

    • Events Co-Ordination, both internally and externally.

    Budget Responsibility

    • Input into Marketing budget, monitor and manage the budget throughout the financial year.
    • Put together campaign budgets, presenting a provisional budget to finalising the actual budget.

    Who the position reports to

    • Head of Marketing and Communications

    Direct subordinates
    The position does not have any direct reports, however, works closely and collaboratively with:

    • Digital Project Manager
    • Events Co-ordinator
    • Content Manager
    • DTP Operator
    • Marketing Assistant

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Events Coordination
    • Supplier Liaison and Management –
    • Including sourcing new suppliers
    • Ensuring timely payments to suppliers
    • Coordinate and arrange external and internal Growthpoint client events (DBN, JHB, CPT)
    • Client events
    • Interim and Annual results events
    • Coordinate and arrange all internal Growthpoint staff events (DBN, JHB, CPT)
    • Staff updates, results, and long service awards
    • HR events, Onboarding, and Induction
    • CSI and GEMS events
    • EXCO events
    • Conferences
    • Event duties will include:
    • In-person hosting of all events
    • Booking venues
    • Invitations and RSVP management
    • Menu planning and bar management
    • Audio visual
    • Presentation and video planning
    • Décor and furniture
    • Flights, accommodation, and shuttle arrangements
    • Event administration
    • Agenda planning
    • Speaker management
    • Event branding
    • Event photography briefing
    • Restaurant selection
    • Event budgeting and reconciliation
    • Arrange all promotional items (DBN, CPT, JHB, PE, EL)
    • Desk drops

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years’ event experience.
    • Any relevant experience, such as volunteering at events, organizing college/university events, or internships in event planning will be advantageous.

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, Business Administration, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.

    Competencies

    • Candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Candidate must be confident, well-spoken, and well presented.
    • With knowledge and understanding of Marketing.
    • Ability to perform under high pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a flexible and dynamic environment.
    • Candidate must be a self-starter, be self-motivated and be creative.
    • Must be willing to travel
