    Junior Software Developer

    Job Advert Summary

    • Start Your Career in Software Development!
    • We’re looking for a Junior Software Developer to help build and improve Spoor & Fisher’s in-house apps and automation tools. This role is perfect for someone just starting out, with basic programming skills and a strong desire to learn.
    • You’ll work closely with our Intermediate Developer and Solutions Architect, gaining hands-on experience in coding, testing, and user support. Along the way, you’ll learn technologies like C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Power Platform.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or currently completing final year).
    • 0–2 years development experience (internships or personal projects accepted).
    • Exposure to C#, .NET, JavaScript, or SQL through coursework or practical experience.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, or Power Automate beneficial but not required.
    • Understanding of basic software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming.
    • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL queries.
    • Willingness to learn Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop.
    • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
    • Good communication skills and ability to ask for guidance when needed.
    • Ability to follow development standards and work within structured processes.
    • Positive attitude, initiative, and desire to grow professionally.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Assist with developing and maintaining applications using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL.
    • Support the development of automation workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop.
    • Help troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications and workflows.
    • Participate in testing, quality assurance, and deployment activities.
    • Assist with documenting solutions, configuration changes, and development procedures.
    • Provide basic user support and escalate complex issues to the Intermediate Developer or Solutions Architect.
    • Follow version control and development standards under supervision.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with business users to understand requirements and clarify solution needs.
    • Assist in maintaining SharePoint Online lists, forms, and basic customizations.
    • Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and training sessions.
    • Identify improvement and automation opportunities and raise them to senior team members.
    • Stay current with relevant technologies and actively build technical skills.
