Traffic Diploma or Law Enforcement/ Peace Officer qualification (qualification must be recognised for South African Police Peace Officer declaration, minimum of 6 weeks training)
Valid Code B driver’s licence
No criminal record - Appointment subject to police clearance
Firearm proficiency
Must have been performing active duties within the past 12 months in a Police, Traffic or Law Enforcement environment.
Other Requirements:
Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans/English/Xhosa – Read, Write and Speak)
Good human relations, communications and interpersonal skills
Conflict handling skills
Ability to give attention to detail
High level of responsibility
Must be physically fit and able bodied
Must work overtime/ shifts when required and perform standby duties when required Must perform duties in other areas of the Municipality when required
Be required to wear the prescribed uniform
Must not be previously involved in any fraudulent activities/resigns as a result of investigations of fraudulent activities
Will work shifts to cover a 24 hour period
Must acquire a municipal driver authority and official Firearm competency certificate within 6 months after appointment.
