Locum Post Basic Pharmacist at Faircape Group

Role Summary

• The successful candidate will support the Faircape Health pharmacy team by accurately preparing, dispensing, and distributing medication, while managing ward and emergency stock and supporting ordering and billing processes. 
• This is a hands-on clinical role requiring strong attention to detail, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to work independently within strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Preparation & Dispensing

• Interpreting and preparing prescriptions
• Repackaging and distributing medication
• Ordering medicine and scheduled substances as per Responsible Pharmacist   instructions
• Preparing, labeling, and dispensing medication in compliance with pharmacist-reviewed prescription
• Alongside the stock controller and admin manager, managing and monitoring ward stock and emergency trolley supplies
• Replenishing stock in emergency trolleys and cupboards as needed
• Conducting weekly and monthly stock takes, reconciling actual vs. system stock, and reporting discrepancies to the Responsible Pharmacists
• Processing medication and consumables billing for sub-acute patients via Clinic Manager
• When required, submit medical aid claims through Prophar

Requirements

Qualifications and registrations:

• Post Basic Pharmacist qualification
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Experience:

• Previous hospital experience will be advantageous. 
• Previous experience with blister packaging would be advantageous
• Previous experience with Propharm and Clinic Manager will be advantageous
