    Maintenance Planner -

    Purpose of the Job:

    • The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity by planning preventative maintenance activities, ensuring parts are available for planned and activities, and supporting the department to extend MTBF and reduce MTTR.

    Key responsibilities include the following:

    • Create and distribute work orders.
    • Conduct site visits to confirm location of breakdown, determine required resources, estimate duration of repairs, and advise on spares required to repair the machine.
    • Schedule planned maintenance activities based on the agreed plan.
    • Ensure that spare parts and consumables are available for planned activities.
    • Attend daily team meeting to align on activities for the day and prioritise work orders.
    • Check breakdown notifications and liaise with the requestor for incident clarity.
    • Identify opportunities and activities to improve machine reliability.
    • Schedule emergency repair orders based on priority and impact to production.
    • Work order closure: confirm the job that has been executed and record plan vs. actual hours of execution.
    • Provide budget inputs for maintenance activities.
    • Report on work order compliance
    • Weekly reporting on machine breakdowns.
    • Daily update of maintenance KPI’s
    • Proactively look for opportunities to save costs or minimize spare parts lead times.
    • Any other work reasonable work that may arise and be requested  by the employer

    Requirements:

    • An Electrical or Mechanical Trade Test with more than 5 years post qualification maintenance experience
    • A N. Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with more than 4 years post qualification maintenance experience.
    • Understand the process of setting up maintenance plans and creation of stock items.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing operation and equipment
    • Strong knowledge and skills of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Accurately filling out daily reports and maintenance KPI’s
    • Understands and able to use SAP
    • Understand and able to use Ariba
    • Understand configuration and the structure of a CMMS
