    Manager: Bonds

    Results Delivery

    • Provide strategic input into departmental/divisional revenue and costs budget to ensure appropriate resource allocation in achievement of departmental goals by also ensuring team is researching, analysing trends and macro-economic factors, revenue drivers and benchmark against other exchanges and how it impacts the market.
    • Provide strategic input annually into the divisional budget by investigating new products and conducting research to ascertain potential value of new products to include in the budget.
    • Apply cost effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to the achievement of divisional financial targets.
    • Provide input into the formalization of the IRC budget.
    • Manage portion of allocated revenue and costs budget through monitoring and seeking cost effective ways of achieving departmental goals.
    • Manage processes to ensure systems, products or projects delivered contributes to improve client/companies service by providing input on budgets, resources required, and process based on the understanding of costs, business objectives and relationship with external suppliers and stakeholders.
    • Manage own and teams’ revenue targets depending on market specialty as determined by Manco/Exco and manage the monitoring of revenue drivers monthly and take action proactively to meet targets through engaging with new clients, promoting existing and new products, monitoring team targets and taking appropriate action.
    • Establish and implement billing models by analyzing market data and work with IT and financial specialists within the organisation to determine the correct billing models.
    • Conduct an annual to 3-year review process prior to billing clients to build an effective billing model with other company resources to finalize billing models and get final approval to present to clients.
    • Manage and lead the crafting of client and product development strategy and take action to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of department and companies’ business strategy.
    • Be accountable for team delivery and take independent action to ensure team delivery.
    • Identify innovations in the market and generate additional revenue through building new and existing client relationships that encourages trading of existing and new products.
    • Make conclusions and judgments based on market conditions and act by providing professional guidance and opinions regarding listed products identified as potential business for traders.
    • Act as a specialist advisor for internal stakeholders to resolve queries as well as provide input on the end-to-end process of trading to ensure excellent client service and delivery.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    • Build strategic Industry/ Global network of thought leaders and relationships utilizing social media, attending, and presenting at conferences and training interventions.
    • Build strong customer relationships to convince customers of the value of organizations services and solutions by using appropriate interpersonal styles and by constantly engaging with customers/vendors/suppliers on new offerings and understanding their value propositions to their clients.
    • Responsible and accountable for planning and running with international and local road shows to identify potential clients and network with existing clients to build and maintain relationships and grow client base.
    • Manage, maintain, and develop relationships with existing and potential new clients by managing the team to liaise with clients to understand their business and align product offerings with their business requirements and vision.

     Process Management:

    • Manage own and team member delivery against set delivery plans and targets by setting timelines, identifying obstacles to delivery, and taking appropriate action where required to achieve results.
    • Manage team to identify what products are listed and conduct research for new product models to ascertain viability of new product in market under guidance from Manager on ideas for new product to generate revenue over the long-term to meet and achieve business growth and sustainability of client relationships.
    • Design product and engage with market to gain acceptance of new product by continuously hosting bi-lateral conversations with all stakeholders, before finalizing product for market release.
    • Engage with policy stakeholders and buy-side (asset managers) and sell side (banks) to ensure the market is ready to accept products and facilitate trading of product.
    • Design various product solutions for clients by understanding their needs, conducting research to determine viability of solution in market, confirming product meets client’s needs taking cognizance of various procedures and approval processes.
    • Enhance the existing product offering by way of new instruments, technology, or features and devise strategies to shift some Bond and Repo Market activity on-screen.
    • Ensure self and team has full understanding of the Bond portfolio made up of Spot Bonds, Repo Market, Electronic Trading Platform which have all different, managed differently, have different clients/traders and own budgets and nuances.

    Education:

    Essential;

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance / economics / business

    Preferred

    • Post-graduate (Honors / Masters /CFA) degre

    Previous Experience:

    Essential;

    • 8 - 10 years having worked in financial markets and have a thorough knowledge of Bonds and Repo markets and products.

    Preferred

    • 2 - 3 years’ experience in managing staff.
