    Manager Marketing Operations & Planning

    Purpose of the Position

    Primary responsibilities include the organization, management and delivery of cross-platform campaign assets, for partner marketing (DStv, GOtv & Showmax) campaign requirements. A key requirement of the role is the delivery of flawless and timely execution across projects and platforms. The position also oversees the execution, re-versioning and re-purposing of promotional assets for MCG platforms.

    This is a specialist role, the successful candidate will work with cross functional teams to deliver objectives.

    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    Campaign Project Management

    • Utilise ASANA to optimise collaboration between GE, MAH & MSA platform and in-country teams to streamline current processes and establish new campaign production workflows, based on an ongoing needs assessment.
    • Monitor projects within the team’s project management tool (ASANA) to ensure accurate project representation and tracking at all times.
    • Work collaboratively with marketing teams to streamline current processes and establish new campaign production workflows, to ensure on time delivery to DStv, GOtv & Showmax platforms and in country teams.
    • Keep Management updated on all projects in progress. Proactively manage a steady and effective flow of communication to the larger creative group and across stakeholders to share and prioritize status updates as needed.
    • Manage internal & external Content Showcase days.

    Campaign alignment

    • Align with Group Marketing teams on consolidated annual, bi-annual & quarterly content plans.
    • Digital Asset Management (Bynder) - organize and track cross-tactical asset delivery across various teams.
    • Liaise daily with Creative Marketing, Marketing Account teams, Legal, Business Affairs, external creative agencies, as well as internal Physical Productions & Graphics Services, Media planning and Production Services teams.
    • Identify, document and escalate technical and production issues to colleagues, appropriately flagging potential impact on cost, deadline, etc.
    • Maintenance of guard book - Collating creative and media schedules (e.g. on-air promos, digital, social media, radio sound bites, activation reports, etc.). This must be done at the end of every campaign and must guide the parameters of successive campaigns, Supplying brand collateral, e.g. Channel & platform logos, descriptors etc.

    Campaign Asset Management & Quality Control

    • Ensure all final assets follow specific show, brand, legal and partner mandatories, as well as all technical and delivery parameters.
    • Continuously maintain fluency with overarching account needs and business priorities to ensure ongoing production preparedness.

    Reporting

    • Provide timely and accurate reports on projects with functional requirements.
    • Ensure systems are in place for accurate information and project progress reporting to all relevant stakeholders.

    Budget & Cost Control

    • Provide input to functional budgets, report on variances as required and recommend/implement remedial actions within span of control.
    • Review and authorize payments in line with approved budget and policy and submit for final processing.

    Stakeholder Relations

    • Establish and maintain the necessary relationships, especially with responsible persons, to execute projects.
    • Provide specialised and technical support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of project objectives.
    • Establish and monitor healthy, diverse internal and external relations and implement remedial actions where required, in the achievement of functional goals.
    • Ensure SLAs & SOPs are complete and available and escalate deviances to relevant parties.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or equivalent
    • Post Graduate degree is advantageous

    Experience

    • A minimum of 5-8 years’ project management experience in Communications, Advertising Agencies, Media or Entertainment industries. 
    • Pan-African experience would be advantageous.
