    Marketing Manager

    About the job
    About the role:

    • Marketing Manager: Real Foods Brands works with the Group Head: Marketing (Real Foods) to position and grow Real Foods’ portfolio of brands (excluding Kauai). The Marketing Manager: Real Foods Brands oversees the marketing function for Nü Health Food Café, Schoon, Free Bird, Kofi, Highveld Honey, Brother Bee & the Real Foods corporate brand, supported by the Social Media Manager & Marketing Assistant for Real Foods Brands:
    • Development and implementation of the marketing calendar for all Real Foods brands (excluding Kauai), including seasonal launches, brand campaigns, promotions, events, sustainability initiatives, CSI, new store openings, partnerships, etc.
    • Strategy and management of digital & PR communication channels (including community management & content creation for in-store digital screens, social media, web site, etc.)
       

    Core duties and responsibilities:

    ·        Strategy and planning:

    • Works with theGroup Head: Marketing (Real Foods) to develop the marketing strategy for each of the Real Foods brands.
    • Develops the annual calendar of marketing activity; Sets objectives for all projects and ensures each activity is delivering to agreed strategic priorities.
    • Ensures all new store openings are added to the calendar as early as possible and communication plans and CPAs are in place.
    • Has a commercial and operational mindset - considering and planning for the financial and operational impact of all marketing activity, forecasting issues and putting measures in place to minimise impact on stores.

    Executing compelling, innovative and integrated marketing communications, based on marketing calendar:

    • Owns all campaign CPA's and acts as the project lead in the team, and with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are adhered to, driving executional excellence.
    • Concept, design, and deliver creative campaigns, including the creation of strong visuals and collateral to convey our messaging.
    • Own the retail and communication rollout of all campaigns, through close collaboration with the operations team, to ensure store environments are always up to standards.
    • Management of digital & PR communication channels:
    • Manage the Social Media Manager: Real Foods Brands to grow all components of digital eco-systems for all Real Foods brands: web sites, social media.
    • Manage the Social Media Manager: Real Foods Brands to develop strategic content that bring brands to life and understand ROI of efforts based on reporting.
    • Management of PR communication channels, including influencers and traditional PR
    • Sets seasonal or product launch pricing (with supply chain, operations and business owners)
    • Works with theGroup Head: Marketing (Real Foods) to get new partner programs set up and establishes a good working relationship with partner, incl. management of day-to-day operations
    • Budget management – Setting up budgets and managing implementation to come in on budget

    Stakeholder management

    • Ensures all stakeholders are delivering to the marketing plan
    • Build relationships with senior stakeholders, especially operations and founders, and garner their support for the marketing plans
    • Manage supplier relationships
    • Address any issues raised and ensure prompt resolution
    • People Management
    • Develop and lead a competent and motivated team:
    • Social Media Manager: Real Foods Brands
    • Marketing Assistant: Real Foods Brands
    • Ensure goals are set for the team each year and that team goals will deliver on business goals, and that all team members are delivering to agreed goals and KPI's
       

    Great candidates for this role have the following characteristics:

    Education and experience required:

    • 6 - 8 years relevant brand management experience, preferably with 1 – 2 years’ digital experience
    • Degree or diploma in Marketing or Advertising
