Meter Reader at uPhongolo Local Municipality

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 certificate.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in meter reading, or revenue services.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

KEY COMPETENCY SKILLS: 

• Communication skills. 
• Attention to detail. Integrity honesty. and 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

• Meter Reading Operations, such as conducting regular and scheduled meter readings for electricity;
• Capturing accurate meter readings manually or electronically in accordance with municipal procedures;
• Identify and record faulty, inaccessible, tampered, or illegal connections;
• Ensure meters are read within prescribed billing cycles. 
• Data Collection and Reporting, including verifying meter numbers, customer details, and meter locations; 
• Submit completed meter reading sheets or electronic data timeously; 
• Reporting discrepancies, irregular consumption patterns, and anomalies to the supervisor; and maintain confidentiality and integrity of consumer information. 
• Customer Interaction, such as communicating professionally with consumers regarding meter readings when required; and respond to basic customer queries and refer complaints to revenue collection Office
