    Mid-weight Art Director - JHB North

    Description

    Art Director

    • Producing campaigns that have an instant and positive impact on the consumer in order to promote the product or brand being advertised.
    • Produce innovative ideas for the visual elements of an advertising campaign in all kinds of media.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of technical knowledge such as artistry, photography, typography, print, Mac skills InDesign & Illustrator etc to support their work.
    • Generate original visual ideas that meet the client's expectations.
    • Work on a number of campaigns and always strive to meet tight deadlines.
    • Receiving and Interpretation of briefs.
    • Work closely with the junior copywriter to generate creative ideas and concepts to fulfil the client brief.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to amend, revise, redevelop adverts or campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, client service team or the client.
    • Demonstrate an ability to explain your thought process of your work.
    • Present work internally and externally in a clear and professional manner.
    • Assist in developing a presentation which includes rationale, reference and any supporting argument to sell the work.
    • Produce sketches/storyboards, roughs/scamps to effectively communicate the idea to the client.

    Client Relationship

    • Familiarise yourselves with the clients products and services, the target audience and competitors' activities

    Business Knowledge

    • Demonstrate an interest in social and cultural trends as well as keep abreast with the developments in the industry.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of target audience and business that the advert is aimed at.
    • Manage projects/campaign effectively and work within allocated hours.

    Team Leadership

    • Work closely with relevant teams, ensuring effective communication and management of teams’ expectations.
    • Work with account teams to understand the clients’ brand and manage projects in a way that will support the delivery of the brand.
    • Actively encourage and facilitate collaboration within the team and other departments within the agency.
    • Actively support and involve team members at the appropriate time to resolve issues.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to work extra hours with the team to produce award-winning work.

    Requirements

    • +3 years plus as an Art Director in a leading creative agency/company that has generated or can generate and produce world-class ideas.

    Skills and Educational Requirements:

    • World-class art direction ability.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Strategically minded.
    • Creatively diverse (photography, design, illustration).
    • Technical understanding of tv & content production, edits, sound, music, voice and direction.
