Mid-Weight Art Director at Weylandts Furniture Cape Town (Pty) Ltd

Role overview:

• We’re looking for a Mid-weight Art Director to join our dynamic Marketing team. This role will support the Senior Art Director in the development and execution of visually compelling content across a range of channels. You’ll collaborate on conceptual campaigns, contribute creative ideas, and produce high-quality design. As a small team, this role requires a creative that takes ownership and pride in their work as they strive to deliver work that meets and exceeds global standards. 

This role will be based in Greenpoint, Cape Town. 

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Senior Art Director and Senior Conceptual Copywriter on all creative assets.
• Assist in creative brainstorming and contribute to the overall success of campaigns.
• Effective and timely creation of assets.
• Creative thinking to produce new ideas for in-store signage, brochures, digital content, and installations, which are in line with each season’s concepts. Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
• Stay up to date with design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in design, photography, and publishing.

 What you bring:

• A relevant degree or diploma in Visual Communication, Graphic Design or Art Direction
• 3 – 4 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary design and layout design
• Excellent technical knowledge of Adobe Suite design software
• An interest in high-end luxury markets and brands/branding. Proven experience within a retail environment necessary
• A passion for interior design, décor trends, and the luxury retail sector
• Thorough understanding & capability of Premier and After Effects & proven experience in video editing and Motion Graphics
• Strong understanding of branding and below-the-line (BTL) communication
• Agency experience would be advantageous.
