    Mine Management Accountant

    Description

    • Project analysis & Business case on proposed projects
    • Understanding of Mine Capital requirements (Planning, Budgeting and procurement execution)
    • Cost comments / costing analysis and investigations / reconciliations
    • Management of cost allocations
    • Forecasting of production, costs and profitability
    • Fuel management
    • Reporting writing (Excel, word, PowerPoint)
    • Assisting users on the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) system with enquiries & Cost enquiries
    • Attending Mining review and planning meetings and provide minutes of meeting as feedback to the Financial manager and Management accountant
    • Identify, analyse and correct incorrect allocations, costing errors and validation errors on the costing reports and month end report.  Do costing analysis and correcting journals where necessary.
    • Leading with the understanding, compilation and submission of relevant budgets during the budgeting process
    • Assisting the Mining & Engineering Managers with the budget preparation and budget management
    • Monitoring spending and financial controls to ensure that spending is kept within approved budget parameters
    • Assist to analyse and interpret the financial information and provide feedback to non-financial managers
    • Assist to report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances, and suggest improvements
    • Assist to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
    • Assist users with preparation of capital motivations, budget access, budget approval, over-expenditure and other costing documentation

    Requirements

    • BCom management accounting / Equivalent qualification in Finance or cost accounting
    • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience, preferable in a Mining or manufacturing environment
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
    • ERP system experience
    • Good mathematical and computer skills
    • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience will be advantageous
    • Strong administration and organisational skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Accuracy and high methodical working methods
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to work independently, and as a team member
    • Work under pressure
    • Medically fit
