Understanding of Mine Capital requirements (Planning, Budgeting and procurement execution)
Cost comments / costing analysis and investigations / reconciliations
Management of cost allocations
Forecasting of production, costs and profitability
Fuel management
Reporting writing (Excel, word, PowerPoint)
Assisting users on the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) system with enquiries & Cost enquiries
Attending Mining review and planning meetings and provide minutes of meeting as feedback to the Financial manager and Management accountant
Identify, analyse and correct incorrect allocations, costing errors and validation errors on the costing reports and month end report. Do costing analysis and correcting journals where necessary.
Leading with the understanding, compilation and submission of relevant budgets during the budgeting process
Assisting the Mining & Engineering Managers with the budget preparation and budget management
Monitoring spending and financial controls to ensure that spending is kept within approved budget parameters
Assist to analyse and interpret the financial information and provide feedback to non-financial managers
Assist to report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances, and suggest improvements
Assist to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Assist users with preparation of capital motivations, budget access, budget approval, over-expenditure and other costing documentation
Requirements
BCom management accounting / Equivalent qualification in Finance or cost accounting
Minimum 3 years relevant working experience, preferable in a Mining or manufacturing environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
ERP system experience
Good mathematical and computer skills
Microsoft Dynamics AX experience will be advantageous
Strong administration and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Accuracy and high methodical working methods
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work independently, and as a team member
