    National Logistics Manager

    Job Purpose

    • Accountable for end-to-end logistics flow from:

    1. local logistics from main warehouses to secondary warehouses
    2. local logistics from warehouses to customers
    • Supports the Logistics strategy which will drive effective customer service, profitability, and logistics network optimization, by managing all service providers optimally.
    • Own the service level agreements both internally and externally with Logistics and Warehousing 3PLs
    • Ensure logistics compliance of all controls and financial disciplines including health and safety.
    • Satisfy all logistical reporting requirements
    • Ensure the effective management of inventory and assets

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Service Delivery

    • Data captured accurately by the warehouses
    • Service delivery reports provided according to agreed format
    • Reasons for credit returns analysed and followed up
    • Disputes regarding accuracy of data are investigated
    • Disputes regarding accuracy of data are minimised
    • Improved customer service levels
    • Provide service according to agreed standards and KPI’S
    • Ensure deliveries are on time in full
    • Ensure all processes are always followed and adhered to
    • Continuous optimisation efforts through logistics footprint assessments.

    IBT + Duty Payment planning

    • Accountable for monthly IBT and Duty payment planning based on planning parameters and sales forecast.
    • Accountable for annual budget/LE setting for IBT and Duty Payments Setting and ensure Risk and Opportunities are reported and managed accordingly.

    Financial and budget management

    • Set calendarization of budgets and reporting internally and externally (Duties for Clearing Agents)
    • Accountable for Plan vs Budget/LE (Latest Estimate) reporting for IBT and Duties, standard costing lines, roadhaul, armed escorts, airfreights in volume and value (Cost-to-Serve) with accompanying commentary and corrective action plans.

    Budget Setting

    • CTS (Cost -to-Serve) – IBT’s, Disbursements and ad hoc budgets
    • Duty Payment Budgets to Clearing Agents

    Stakeholder relationship management accountability

    • Manage relationship with Clearing Agents
    • Monthly S&OP (CBP) meetings
    • Commercial Weekly and Monthly Reviews
    • Regional Key account Management
    • Warehouse and Distribution 3PL Contract and Relationship Management

    Reporting Accountability

    • Accountable for plan vs actual for IBT and Duties
    • R&O on CTS (Disbursement, duties, IBT, roadhaul, armed escorts, standard costing – 3PL lines)
    • Service Delivery – CFR and OTIF
    • IBT Actuals + Accruals
    • Open Indents Reporting

    Reporting Accountability

    • Ensure successful implementation and roll-out of planning tool – Anaplan DDMRP

    • Freight Management, Import/Export Procedures, Warehouse/Delivery, Pipeline Concept and Operations.
    • FGI/SKU Management, IT, Company and Product Knowledge, Operational Policy and Procedures.
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Adobe.
    • Reporting: Qlikview/Power BI
    • Strong knowledge of Excel spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • National Diploma in Supply Chain and/or Logistics or similar
    • 5 years relevant experience in a Logistics/ Planning role in a FMCG environment
