OTR Repair Technician - Postmasburg at Bridgestone South Africa (Pty) Ltd

Job Purpose

We are looking for an OTR Repair Technician reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is a Local, based in Kathu.  

You will be responsible for the repair of OTR tyres.

Responsibilities:

 Receiving and initial inspection

• Tyre Identification
• Cleanliness
• Injury Identification
• Work planning

Repair Preparation

• Skiving/gouging/shaping
• Evaluation of the injury
• Measuring/Calculating curing times/Patch selection
• Preparing the inner liner

Final preparation

• Preparation cleaning
• Patch application
• Filling rubber/ stitching and shaping

Curing

• Heat pad and Air bag selection
• Setting up the curing system
• Curing/post cure

Final inspection

• Finishing
• Repair evaluation
• Signoff – Job card, repair report

Job Characteristics:

• Attention to detail
• Conscientious, thorough
• Cleanliness, and neatness
• Good with hands – work with various hand tools and air tools
• Physically fit – may be required to climb into large tyres or work bending into the tyre
• Basic math literacy - must be able to take measurements and calculate curing times, read application chart.
• Good communication written and spoken – must be able to complete job card and basic report writing.
• Ability to learn new skills
• Safety minded

Qualifications and Experience

• Min Grade 12
• Previous working experience as an OTR Technician
• Ability to the perform the tasks required.
