Duties

- Comprehensive asset and waste management for assigned laboratories.
- Ensuring health and safety, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and other regulatory compliance for assigned laboratories.
- Line management of the technical assistants in the Division.
- Ensuring shared items are ordered and stocked (for example, cleaning supplies, etc.).
- Assisting the divisional procurement officer with procurement processes when required.
- Supporting academic staff in technical matters related to the operations in assigned laboratories.
- Applying good knowledge of local and international trends, best practices, and requirements for well-functioning technical aspects of the laboratory system.
- Liaising with Facilities Management on technical and infrastructure matters affecting the laboratory and office environments. ·
- Ensuring that staff and students working in laboratories are informed of, and complying with, all technical requirements for a well-functioning laboratory system and that they are trained in the use of equipment where applicable.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- MSc in biomedical sciences, or a closely related field in laboratory sciences.
- At least five years' experience working in a research laboratory.
- Training and/or experience in Good Laboratory Practice.
- Knowledge, experience and skills in the use of laboratory equipment, its functioning and maintenance.
- Good computer literacy and proficiency in at least the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team, and strong written and verbal communication skills in at least English.
- Experience in staff management.
- Experience in writing / reviewing laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- The ability to function in a multicultural and multilingual environment, as well as the ability to work independently and to take initiative.
- A willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.

Duties/Pligte
- Designing and facilitating assigned leadership coaching modules within the MPhil in Leadership coaching programme and within other postgraduate programmes at Stellenbosch Business School.
- Collaborating with academic staff to create and deliver transformative learning experiences for students in leadership coaching and across the broader Stellenbosch Business School portfolio.
- Developing, reviewing, and continuously improving curricula to ensure academic quality, relevance, professional accreditation alignment, and responsiveness to developments in coaching theory and practice.
- Building and maintaining relationships with coaching professional bodies, industry partners, organisational clients, and the broader coaching community to support teaching, research, supervision, and social impact.
- Providing individual and group coaching supervision to students and contributing to the development of reflective and ethical coaching practice.
- Contributing to academic leadership, programme management, quality assurance, and service to Stellenbosch University and Stellenbosch Business School.
- Conducting, publishing, and disseminating high-quality research in leadership coaching, coaching psychology, leadership development, and related fields through internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, books, book chapters, and case studies.
- Promoting the social impact of Stellenbosch Business School through teaching, research, coaching supervision, and engagement with organisations and communities.
- Supervising postgraduate research at master's and doctoral levels.
- Actively engaging in and contributing to Stellenbosch University's academic, research, and institutional activities and to the intellectual life of Stellenbosch Business School.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- PhD (or doctoral equivalent at NQF 10) in organisational/executive/leadership/managerial coaching or related field from a recognised university; OR a master's degree and current enrolment in a PhD (or doctoral equivalent) programme with substantial progress towards completion.
- Evidence of practicing as an organisational/executive/leadership/managerial coach.
- Membership of a recognised coaching body such as EMCC, ICF, COMENSA.
- Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment, and student support at the postgraduate level in the relevant subject area.
- Experience in the design and development of coaching module content.
- An established record of research, or publication in nationally and internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals.
- Good organisational and personal management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship
