    People Operations Specialist - Cape Town

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Provide specialist administrative support for all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration and employee relations.
    • Onboarding Administration: Facilitate a seamless onboarding experience for new employees, managing administration and logistics.
    • Operational Support for Recruitment: Tap in on various recruitment tasks, including scheduling interviews, candidate communications and administration.
    • Mauritius Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to our Mauritius-based Head of People and Mauritian team.
    • Group Risk: Manage group risk insurance administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Employee Perks: Oversee the issuance and administration of employee perks and benefits.
    • Assist payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payments.
    • Payroll: Assist with payroll processes, including generating reports, managing leave balances and processing payments.
    • Maintain employee files and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Contracts/ Offer Letters: Prepare and manage employment contracts and offer letters, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
    • Filing & Record Keeping: Maintain organised and secure employee files in accordance with company policies and regulations.
    • Assist with the execution of company events, team-building activities and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Stay up-to-date on HR policies and best practices.
    • Manage reporting and administration related to COIDA, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), Skills Development Levy (SDL) and Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA).
    • Be a problem-solver and go-to person for all employee inquiries, fostering collaboration and managing People Projects/ Initiatives effectively.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a Business-related field is preferred.
    • At least 3 years experience in an HR/ People environment, preferably within the People Operations field.
    • You are detail-oriented and organised, with an efficiency in multitasking.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse personalities.
    • You're proactive, resourceful and a self-starter who can take initiative and ownership of tasks.
    • You are passionate about people and creating a positive and collaborative work culture.
    • You're proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have experience in HRIS software.
    • Knowledge of South African employment laws and regulations (a bonus).
