Plant Production Manager at Anglo American

Job Description:

As our Plant Production Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist Manager Production to develop annual budget for plant sections

• SHE systems Management

• Ensure that plant section operates in a safe, predictable and sustainable manner

• Develop and maintain site specific standards, codes of practices, systems and procedures in accordance with guidelines and the Act

• Identify key performance shortfalls and gaps, and critical improvement areas

• Manage performance of direct production staff

• Take corrective action to deliver daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly targets

• Ensure availability and allocate production resources (people, materials and money) across all shifts

• Tactical plans for implementation of plant goals and objectives

• Collaborate with the technical team to optimize the plant

These roles are in the Processing Division at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Production.

Qualifications:

• BSc or BEng Degree (Chemistry, Metallurgy and/or Chemical Engineering)

• A Management Development Programme will be advantageous

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: 

• At least five years post graduate qualification experience in Refineries

• Knowledge of the best utilization/business applications of management and plant processing

• Computer skills for role including Business systems e.g. SAP

• SHE systems Management

• Management systems implementation and maintenance thereof
