    Portfolio Manager: Digital Media

    • The role is accountable for growing and driving customer engagement across all relevant digital platforms, including customer adoption of digital sales and self-service channels. The role will provide clear direction for digital media across the whole Vodacom business, working in close coordination with the Brand, Segment, Digital Channels, Regions, Financial & Digital Lifestyle Services and Vodacom Business teams. Outputs include driving Digital Media and campaign strategies and plans to deliver on overall brand and commercial goals across the various business units within Vodacom South Africa. The function plays a primary role in driving the optimisation of the overall behavioural measurement score (BMS) for brand consideration and digital channel experience (TNPS), as well as revenue generated through digital channels and associated commercial optimization and Innovation. 
    • The role will lead the acceleration of Vodacom’s leadership position within the Digital Marketing Industry and drive Innovation, differentiated customer engagement as well as leverage the power of AI and next-generation technologies to ensure Vodacom remains the most loved Telco brand in SA

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Digital media strategy and implementation across the Consumer, Enterprise and Acceleration business units
    • Planning, Implementation and performance across all digital media types including premium display, mobile display, programmatic, advertising networks, paid search and paid social
    • Ownership of paid media technology stacks and platforms including media planning tools, DMP, Ad Server, DSP, CDP, dynamic creative and Ad verification
    • Drive breakthrough digital marketing innovation and 1st to Telco initiatives
    • Leverage the power of AI and next-generation technologies to drive efficiencies and improve brand equity
    • Continuously manage balance between Brand and Performance Marketing 
    • Manage Digital Media budget planning and alignment with business units
    • Play orchestrator role with business units and ensure good working relationship demonstrating the value and benefit Digital Media is adding to the business 
    • Provide inspirational leadership and coaching across the Vodacom organisation, as well as external partners to enable delivery of digital media brand and commercial outcomes

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric - essential
    • Relevant 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Commerce or Business related field essential
    • Masters – advantage
    • A minimum of 8 years relevant experience essential
    • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience essential in:
    • Knowledge of digital media and channels, including implementation across channels
    • Driving commercial & operational targets for the digital media domain – sales, revenue, profitability, adoption of the products and services
    • Creating strategic plans to win market share from competitors 
    • Experience in managing digital media for large consumer facing brands
    • Capable of working in a complex organisation and able to build strong relationships and credibility with multiple levels both internally and externally
    • Experience in running agile teams
    • Minimum of 3 years Leadership/Management/Supervisory experience (essential)
