Process Controller: Purification Engineering Service Department - Meyerton at Midvaal Local Municipality

Job description

• Undertake the sampling, testing, analysis and recording of results of various samples of raw, in-process and treated wastewater and sludge.
• Operate various process equipment’s in various process units within the wastewater treatment process plant.
• Adjust various process equipment, record, and report on plant conditions.
• Clear and unblock inlets, outlets, valves, filters, and connections.
• Sludge handling operations
• Attend to various shifts operational process challenges.
• Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time)

Minimum requirements

• Grade 12
• Technical Qualification (NTC 3) in Wastewater Treatment or Water Care
• National Diploma in Wastewater Treatment, Water Care & Chemical engineering will be an added advantage.
• Valid Driver’s License (PDP will be an added advantage)
• Computer Literacy (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills.
• Skills & competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills problem solving skills, attention to detail.
• Ability to work shifts.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of water care processes & legislations.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repairs on equipment used.
• Classification/eligibility for classification as a Class 3 plant Operator in terms of Regulation R 2834 Dated 27 December 1985
• 2-3 years relevant experience in wastewater treatment as a plant operator within a Local Government Authority.
