    General Worker: Water Section X1 Engineering Service Department - Meyerton

    Job description

    • Responsible for loading and off-loading of materials and equipment of the section with protected hands and safety tools.
    • Put out traffic signs to worn traffic about workers next to municipal roads during excavation of work
    • Clean in and around the working area of responsibility with broom and various manual labour equipment tools to ensure clean environment.
    • Do any labour related work when requested by either the supervisor or the superintendent of the section
    • Execution of all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the section
    • Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time

    TLB Operator – Roads Section Public Safety & Roads Service - Meyerton

    Job description

    • Responsible for loading and off-loading of material and equipment with right equipment to ensure safety of co-workers and the enhancement of productivity within the section.
    • Operating vehicle for daily productivity of work and ensures that safety and traffic rules are followed.
    • Ensures and protects the vehicle in use and the work area with road signs for the safety of road users like public and vehicles during the excavation process.
    • Operates the TLB for digging of trenches and general road excavations to ensure effective construction and maintenance of roads related matters.
    • Co-operates fully and consultation with the supervisors of the section through receiving and dispatching of works orders to ensure productivity as a prime work purpose to fulfil the service delivery to the rate payers of the council.

    Minimum requirements

    • Grade 12 
    • Code 10 driver’s License with public driver’s permit (PDP)

    • Skilful handling and operating of the TLB Machine
    • Ability to read and write, communication and interpersonal skills.

    Job description

    • Responsible for operations within the LED Section.
    • Initiate, Coordinate and manage sustainable local economic development projects and monitor their implementation
    • Identify projects that will aid effective and efficient service delivery
