    Product Manager

    • We're looking for a Product Manager to help us build our Product solutions and improve our merchant experience. If you love working in cross-functional teams, and come alive solving real-world problems, you’ll love working at Payfast.     • You have some experience in Product Management, preferably with digital and/or financial or payment products.
    • You understand the power and value of design. You also understand how an authentic brand can be shaped to make a product that users genuinely love.
    • You have a passion for learning and want to grow in your knowledge of payments and fintech. 
    • You have a bias to action. You know how to get things done by staying focused on the things that really matter and forging a path into the unknown.  
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Understand that product development is a team sport and working well with others is the key to your own success. 

    What you'll be doing

    • Set vision and strategy:  Your work should be grounded in research with a clear short and long-term strategy. This strategy needs to be translated into a comprehensive plan for what features will be viable for the various market segments we serve, along with the relevant cost and revenue projections. 
    • Create:Lead the discovery and development of new products, while optimizing existing product features.
    • Drive execution: Create and set clear goals with your team, regularly checking progress, learn and adjust course as you progress. Develop success metrics and continued analysis of performance and reports post-launch.
    • Lead the roadmap: Understand our market, competition, and user requirements in-depth and translate them into a well-structured and executable roadmap.
    • Understand our customer:Build a deep understanding of our merchants by speaking to them regularly, testing your work with them to apply actionable insights before requirements are drafted.
    • Collaborate:Work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of engineering, data, design, and UX to deliver on the strategy.
    • Make good decisions:Make decisions and help others to make decisions that enable us to deliver great products and services to our customers. 
    • Contribute: be actively engaged in helping us improve how we work. 

    What you'll need

    • Have a proven track record of product launches where you have taken a product from concept to launch, driving product vision, creating product roadmaps, driving UX decisions, and steering technical implementation discussions
    • You have significant experience (5+ years) as a software product manager, with demonstrable experience in App design & development. 
    • You have a strong commercial mindset and are able to empathize with our core customer base. (Small, medium, and large enterprises).
    • You understand the power and value of design. You also understand how an authentic brand can be shaped to make a product that users genuinely love.
    • You have enough technical knowledge to quickly understand our payments ecosystem and how to maximize its value to our merchants. 
    • Financial services, payments, or working in a regulated card scheme environment is preferred.
    • You have a bias to action. You know how to get things done by staying focused on the things that really matter and forging a path into the unknown.  
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Understand that product development is a team sport and working well with others is the key to your own success
