Professional Officer -Training,Professional Officer- Trade Testing and RPL at City of Cape Town

Requirements: Professional Training

• National Diploma (Heavy Current)
• Electrician Trade Test Certificate (Heavy Current)
• Computer Literacy-MS Office Applications
• Relevant experience (minimum 3 years) in Technical Training (Heavy Current) OR Electrical Heavy Current environment
• Recommended: Registered Assessor and/or Registered Moderator
• Knowledge of Medium Voltage would be advantageous

Requirements: Professional Officer: Trade Testing and RPL

• National Diploma (Heavy Current)
• Electrician Trade Test Certificate (Heavy Current)
• Computer Literacy-MS Office Applications
• Relevant experience (minimum 4 years) in Technical Training (Heavy Current) and/or Trade Test Environment
• Relevant experience (minimum 4 years) in Training Material Development
• Registered Trade Test Assessor
• Registered Trade Test Moderator

Key Performance Areas: Professional Officer: Training

• Provide support and continuous improvement of processes
• Coordinate and conduct Electrical training courses based on acceptable educational practices for the relevant topics and associated ETQA processes
• Present course material to learners, explaining and discussing content, clarifying terminology, and illustrating examples to support understanding and learning
• Assess learners both theoretically and practically
• Conduct moderation of learner assessments
• Perform administrative duties and provide statistical information with respect to training
• Supervise and control learners including inculcating discipline
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and report accidents/injuries in accordance with the City’s COIDA procedures

Key Performance Areas: Professional Officer: Trade Testing and RPL

• Provide support and continuous improvement on Trade Testing and RPL processes
• Assess Trade Test and RPL candidates in accordance with NAMB (QCTO) guidelines
• Assess learners both theoretically and practically
• Conduct moderation of learner assessments
• Coordinate and conduct Electrical training courses based on acceptable educational practices for the relevant topics and associated ETQA processes
• Present course material to learners, explaining and discussing content, clarifying terminology, and illustrating examples to support understanding and learning
• Perform training and trade testing administration and provide statistical information
• Supervise and control learners and Trade Test candidates including inculcating discipline
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and report accidents/injuries in accordance with the City’s COIDA procedures
• Develop and update training manuals and resources in view of the latest technology, amendments to legislation, and processes
