    Property Specialist - Durban

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Degree in Finance/Commerce/Business
    • 5 years’ experience in Commercial /compliance/contract management environment
    • Proven work experience as similar role
    • Driver’s license Understanding compliance, financials, and contract management. Leases and rentals
    • Full of policies and compliance, norms and standards of facilities management and its financial aspects
    • In depth knowledge of all rules and regulations surrounding property management
    • Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software

     Summary of Duties (but not limited to):

    • Compile commercial plans and guidelines for space utilization and develop criteria for allocation.
    • Oversee property contracts and ensure compliance with university policies around utilization.
    • Create Accomplish financial goals and report periodically on financial performance.
    • Source and build relationships with prospective clients to expand business opportunities.
    • Negotiate lease/contracts and contractors for rental of properties and develop the framework for space management and rentals.
    • Regular communications with stakeholders and tenants including prospective tenants.
    • Advertise and market vacant spaces to attract tenants.
    • Collect receivable accounts and handle operating expenses.
    • Visit rental properties and perform inspections of the interior or exterior of the building.
    • Use downtime in their office to schedule maintenance repairs and research potential changes to housing laws and regulations.
    • Develop and manage annual budgets by forecasting requirements and analyzing variances, data, and trends.
    • Responsible for performing inspections after tenants leave to make sure they didn’t cause any damage to the property during the time of their lease.
    • Reporting
    • Property Managers may receive calls after business hours if one of their rental properties experiences a water leak or another serious problem.
