Job Specification:
Key Performance Areas:

Production and Machinery

• Ensure that production machines reach the yield target standards as set.
• Utilising the 5 Why analysis tool to analyse the root cause of the breakdowns and investigating, testing, implementing and monitoring solutions to reduce breakdown frequency.
• Adherence to Job card maintenance system and completion of job cards timeously.
• Ensure breakdowns are attended to immediately and root cause determined with relevant rectification made.
• Responsible for the safe maintenance practice to keep working environment safe and clean by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining the continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.

People and Team Management – Training

• Mentoring and skills development of apprentices on all processing machinery and equipment.
• Coach and provide feedback on areas of development.
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing engineering department target results as needed.

Maintenance

• Identifying maintenance, shutdown and refurbishment needs as well as planning, scheduling and executing planned maintenance.
• Reconditioning of Baader and Trio equipment;
• Responsible for the troubleshooting, repairing and servicing of Baader production machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructure mechanically;
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling maintenance cost;
• Dealing with emergency breakdowns, unplanned maintenance problems and repairs of machines;
• Responsible for the troubleshooting, repairing and servicing of Trio production machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructure mechanically;

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience of Baarder and Trio equipment
• Skilled mechanical and technical abilities

Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Trade Test qualification

Additional requirements:

• Overtime required
