    Regional Training Manager

    Job Description

    Minimum requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license (extensive travel required).
    • A training/education qualification.
    • 5 years’ experience in training and/or a related industry.
    • A minimum of 1 years’ managerial experience.

    Responsibilities:

    Quality of Instruction:

    • Observe training sessions facilitated by Training Facilitators and Branch Champions to ensure the prescribed methodology is followed, to gauge the efficacy of the training and to record and report findings.
    • Ensure the utilization of a variety of training techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs in the region.
    • Coach, guide and monitor all Team Members involved in training based on the observation outcomes to ensure the highest quality of instruction.
    • Analyse all quality-measurement tools to ensure targeted coaching for all Team Members involved in facilitating training.

    People Management:

    • Manage a team of Training Facilitators to ensure targeted training interventions are conducted in a standardized, interactive and effective manner through a variety of instructional techniques and on multiple platforms.
    • Oversee the Branch Champion initiative (Retail) throughout the region and manage it through engagement with Operations and the Training Facilitators to ensure that Branch Champions are coached, mentored and monitored.
    • Track and respond to Training Facilitators’ Weekly Planning, Daily Reports and Registers to ensure training records are keep up to date.
    • Manage any and all HR-related issues that the Training Facilitators might encounter (i.e. leave, grievances, etc.) to ensure that such matters are resolved timeously.
    • Manage the Training Facilitators’ Proof of Work progress and provide guidance where needed to ensure the efficacy of the bi-annual Performance Reviews.
    • Arrange and conduct the performance reviews of the Training Facilitators in conjunction with the Talent Development Manager to ensure that the Team Members’ performance is tracked regularly.
    • Guide, monitor and motivate the respective Team Members’ Individual Development Plans to ensure that Team Members are developed.
    • Communicate, facilitate and report on Team Members placed on a Performance Improvement Plan to ensure that the necessary support is provided to the Team Members when needed
    • Research, allocate and manage external training courses aimed at the professional development of the training team to ensure that the Team Members are developed.
    • Create and facilitate ad hoc internal workshops for both the client and the training team to ensure that the team members are continuously developed.
    • Meet with the training team on a regular basis to discuss all training-related matters.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Attend Regional Operations Meetings for iBranch & Retail and report to the Talent Development Manager (TDM). Once initiatives have been agreed upon the Regional Training Manager needs to manage the action/rollout.

    Planning:

    • Using a skills gap analysis, plan and submit the monthly planning for the region to the Talent Development Manager to ensure that the gaps identified in the skills gap analysis are addressed.
    • Manage the weekly planning submitted by the Training team to ensure that the business has line of sight of the upcoming training initiatives.
    • Engage with the respective Operational Managers to ensure the planning includes all training required by the client.

    Project and Content Management:

    To meet the training needs of the client, the Team Member will:

    • Create content based on needs analysis in line with the prescribed content creation guidelines and Star Factory methodology.
    • Assist with the creation, moderation and implementation of new training initiatives/programmes nationally through the effective management of the training team.
    • Submit researched proposals for new training initiatives/programmes to improve the current service offering to both internal and external clients as well as the training team.
    • Manage the structured curation of the content of training programmes and initiatives.

    Training Facilitation:

    • Conduct specialized (higher level) training aimed at higher level team members to ensure that the business’ training needs are met, and the Team Members are upskilled.
    • Facilitate any and all training initiatives /programmes when called on to do so due to demand or the unavailability of resources to ensure that the training schedule is not disrupted.
    • Manage the region’s ongoing training initiatives, such as the VoiceNote & BetStrike Training Initiative to ensure that the region receives their required training.

    Reporting:

    To ensure that training data and metrics are readily available when required by the business, the Team Member will:

    • Analyze all training data, reports, assessments and surveys conducted in the region and provide monthly qualitative and quantitative reports to the Talent Development Manager.
    • Report to the Talent Development Manager on the region’s iBranch VoiceNote & BetStrike Training Initiative and follow up on non-participants and/or poor performers.
    • Collate and analyze the Training Evaluation Survey responses and report to the Talent Development Manager.
    • Engage with the Talent Development Manager on a weekly basis to report and discuss regional training matters.

    Travel:

    • Inter-provincial travel may be required which includes planned and ad hoc visits to ensure that all regions have an adequate training coverage
    • Monthly Management meeting at Star Factory in Umhlanga to ensure alignment throughout the team and facilitate team engagement.

    Knowledge, skills and competencies:

    • Proficient in reading and writing English and another South African language.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office suits i.e.; Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Impressive administrative, planning, organizational and time management skills.
    • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
    • Good report writing skills (verbal and written).
    • Result-driven and takes accountability to deliver despite obstacles.
