    Risk Intelligence and Reporting Analyst

    Job Purpose

    The Operational Risk Analyst and Reporting uses advanced data analytics techniques to generate reports that provide useful insights to be used in business, strategic and operational risk decision making across Nedbank.

    Job Responsibilities

    Risk Analysis:

    • Be a key role player in the data discovery processes; and collaborate with key stakeholders including Data Managers to consolidate data from different sources.
    • Ensure compliance with IT and data risk management procedures when managing, analysing, and transferring data.
    • Use SAS analytics software and techniques to analyse data related to market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to identify potential operational risks.
    • Evaluate potential operational risks from data trend analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Analyse and model potential operational risk scenarios to assess their impact on Nedbank's risk profile.
    • Build and maintain risk models to support decision-making and risk quantification.
    • Review Nedbank and Business Unit Plans and ensure the delivered process, services and solutions are aligned to support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance risk management processes, systems, and methodologies based on data driven trends and industry best practices.

    Operational Risk Reporting:

    • Create multifaceted reports in accordance with internal firm policies/ frameworks; and external reporting requirements, including insights which span operational sub-risk types.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on risk analysis to enhance operational risk management strategies.
    • Provide inputs to Pillar 3, ORX and BASA reports as well as analyst’s booklets where operational risk is concerned.
    • Develop and own quantitative operational risk reports which are submitted to the Head Operational Risk Intelligence and tabled for the GRCMC meeting.
    • Present reports developed at ad hoc committee meetings.
    • Ensure submission of operational risk-related reports to regulatory bodies, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Keep stakeholders updated on progress of risk analyses, key insights and reports.
    • Foster communication and collaboration with the internal team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risk concerns and priorities.
    • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders into reports to enhance the accuracy and relevance of risk analysis.

    Team Leadership and Self-Management

    • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced, and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
    • Develop a work strategy including goals and objectives and share this with line management for consideration.
    • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on the role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending sessions.
    • Share knowledge and industry trends with the team and other stakeholders.

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 3 - 5 years experience in business and system analysis in risk management
    • Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification

    • BCom Computer Science/ Data Science/ Risk Management or related qualifications
