    Sales & Account Executive

    Summary of the role:

    • We are looking for a dynamic Sales & Account Executive to join our Johannesburg office.
    • The main focus of the role is on acquisition and account retention and development. The Sales & Account Executive is responsible for growing the business within the existing customer base and ensuring the highest level of customer retention through strong customer satisfaction. Understanding customer needs and translating them into effective solutions is essential. The role requires proactively promoting these solutions to add value, build strong customer relationships, and secure long-term partnerships. Additionally, the Sales & Account Executive identifies potential cost‑saving synergies and creates win‑win outcomes through tailored and holistic solutions.

    Main Responsibilities:

    You will play a key role in driving sales growth, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of Amadeus products and solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting Amadeus’ strategic goals and consistently communicating our core value propositions to customers.
    • Leading the full sales cycle—from prospecting and qualification to negotiation and deal closure—while meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
    • Engaging with clients through visits and calls to understand their needs and recommend the most suitable Amadeus products and solutions.
    • Delivering product demonstrations and ensuring customers fully understand the value of our offerings.
    • Collaborating with internal ACO teams to ensure seamless prospect support, smooth onboarding, and high customer satisfaction.
    • Maintaining strong knowledge of Amadeus products, industry trends, competitor activity, and pricing to effectively position our solutions.
    • Providing regular updates on pipeline progress, lead status, and customer insights for monthly planning and reporting.
    • Sharing ongoing feedback on client requirements, market developments, and product enhancement needs.
    • Continuously developing professional expertise through workshops, publications, networking, and industry best practices.

    Product Operations:

    • Ensuring timely delivery and implementation of products and solutions for key clients.
    • Managing smooth transitions between hunter teams and Customer Support teams.
    • Developing a clear understanding of the full product portfolio and tailoring solution recommendations to each customer or prospect.

    Sales Support:

    • Translating client requirements into formal agreements and ensuring accurate documentation.
    • Supporting the collection of product and service fees within the department.
    • Ensuring all client implementation issues or technical questions are resolved promptly.
    • Identifying and developing new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
    • Building and nurturing strong relationships across customer organizations and internal teams to drive acquisition, retention, and long‑term account development.

    About You:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and account management.
    • GDS knowledge (Amadeus or other systems) is a strong advantage and highly valued.
    • Travel industry knowledge or experience is a bonus.
    • Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to establish trust at multiple levels.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Flexible, proactive, and positive approach to work, including adaptability in working hours.
    • Willingness and ability to travel regularly — within South Africa, across the region, and internationally (including Madrid, Nice, and other Amadeus locations).
    • Ability to represent Amadeus externally with professionalism and strong commercial presence.
