Sales Engineer - Aftermarket Fans at Howden

James Howden Holdings, a Division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for experienced Sales Engineers to achieve the Aftermarket Sales budget in served markets ensuring required margins are met. To ensure contract documentation for required contracts is processed correctly for production purposes.

What needs to be done?

• Sales Targets: Sales Targets Maintain current customer relations and establish and promote new customers to grow the business. Obtain enquiries from the clients from both a proactive as well reactive approach. Compiling and submitting of tender documents to clients in accordance with client’s specifications and Howden guidelines on OEM equipment repairs. Facilitate customer inspections in accordance with repairs requirements and customer requests.
• Contract Management: Responsible for all administration related to the sales function in order to meet agreed standards
• Negotiation and Communication: Negotiate with clients on equipment requirements, prices and commercial conditions verbally or in writing. Continuously communicate with clients to update them on progress on contracts in accordance with legal procedures. Seek further opportunities to support the customer and strengthen relationships. Communicate internally with Quality, Engineering, legal, finance, supply chain and contracts to ensure compliance with client requirements providing the best possible solutions to clients requesting services.
• Financial Control: Approve tenders in accordance with Howden General Operating Manual (GOM). Grant discounts in accordance with company procedure with line management approval. Responsible to ensure correct levels of authority are obtained if outside of the above limits
• Safety Orientation: Comply with all Comply with ISO 9000 and ISO 45001.
• Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls

What do you need to bring?

• Grade 12/ Matric
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects.
• 2-3 years technical sales experience in a similar environment.
• A basic understanding of fan products.
• Customer-facing experience essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
