Senior Accountant: Property Rates and Taxes - Riversdale
Relevant three year tertiary qualification (NQF6 – 360 credits) preferably with financial accounting as major
Valid Code B driver’s license
Computer literate
Good communication, interpersonal and management skills
Able to communicate in two of the official languages of the Western Cape
Five years’ or more relevant experience required which includes two years of supervisory experience. Duties: Manage the administration of the Valuation Section to ensure that valuation rolls are executed according to the Municipal Property Rates Act, Rates Policies, Rates By-
Law and Regulations
Coordinate and control the property rates and owner borne costs
Control the implementation, capturing and testing of approved tariffs
Perform monthly reconciliations
Manage the Property Rates and Owner Borne Costs
Ensure that debtor accounts are updated and correct
Compile Financial Statements
Expenditure and Asset Management
Authorise the issuing of property rates clearance certificates
Compile and submit reports
Supervision
Handle enquiries
