Senior Accounts Payable Analyst at ABB

ABB is world leader in pioneer technology offering a wide range of products and services. This position forms part of the backbone and support services center named GBS (Global Business Services). GBS provides services across main areas of Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Information Technology. GBS support ABB business’ Globally from main hubs in Asia, Europe and America. This position is part of the local GBS Front office operation in the South Africa.

You will be working as a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst and will be the part of Global Business Services for Finance Expert Service business line based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Shared Accounting Services Manager and will be responsible to support overall financial statement preparation by executing accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and external regulatory requirements. Process accounting transactions for accounts payable in a complete, accurate and timely manner while ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and procedures and external regulatory requirements.


Your Responsibilities

• Transaction processing: Processing accounts payable transactions in coordination with hub, ensuring accurate tracking and processing.
• Monthly closing: Performing necessary activities within the Accounts Payable area to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Analysis: Executing analysis and reports as assigned and takes appropriate action as necessary.
• Internal controls: Complying with and helps achieve Internal Control over financial reporting compliance in accounts payable for applicable templates. Participating in internal control testing and prepares relevant documentation.
• Communication: Ensuring all relevant stakeholders are aware of progress or issues to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Vendor relations: Building and managing relationships with vendors to manage expectations and ensure vendor satisfaction. Conducting periodic face to face meetings with local third-party vendors aimed at reduction and resolution of billing errors, discrepancies and disputes.
• Optimization: Identifying areas of improvement in the purchase to pay process. Assisting in developing and implementing processes and procedures, and continuously optimizes to gain efficiency and drive productivity gains.
• Communication: Ensuring all relevant stakeholders are aware of progress or issues to maximize customer satisfaction.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in account payable along with project management experience is must.
• Required hands on experience in working on Excel and SAP.
• Required strong good communication and interpersonal skills.
