Senior Civil Engineering Technician at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Applies technical engineering procedures and applications associated with the provision of information and guidance, formulation and development and/ or draughting of plans, proposals and designs. 

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Provides technical information on the principles and applications associated with design, draughting and contract management of engineering requirements for average complexity projects.
• Applies principles and techniques associated with the development of technical designs.
• Coordinates sequences associated with the preparation and collation of contract documentation and undertaking and reporting on tender contractor evaluations.
• Implements and monitors minor engineering contracts for average complexity projects.
• Disseminates information on the technical aspects and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes

Essential Requirements    

• National Diploma plus registration as a Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa within 3 months of employment; plus Internal Assessment.
• Valid motor vehicle drivers’ license (Code B or EB).
• 3 Years relevant post qualification experience.
