    Senior HUB Manager

    Overview:
    This role will take you to one of the most epic destinations in the world: Cape Town, South Africa.

    Starting there you will be working closely with our German and South African team to build an innovative Tech HUB from scratch. 

    As the HUB Manager you will work directly at our Tech HUB and in the startup ecosystem in Cape Town and be responsible for all onsite tasks to launch the HUB and welcome its first members and contributors. This includes the preparation of the space, implementation of all strategic & operative elements, growth of the network, acquisition of members & supporters as well as preparation of events, workshops & more. 
    The person we are looking for:

    • You are motivated to create impact and bridge the gap between Europe and South Africa
    • You are open to relocate to Cape Town for at least 3 months (with option to prolong)

    • You are passionate about community building, networking and innovation
    • You have a hands on mentality and realize ideas quickly 
    • You can start as early as 01.06.2021

    Your responsibilities include:
    Setup: 

    • Convert the vision and mission of the HUB into reality working closely with the ecosystem in Cape Town
    • Supervise building setup and hiring of HUB employees
    • Lead and negotiate all needed contracts and agreements with suppliers & service providers 
    • Make all needed perks and USPs happen through finding the rights partners and negotiate terms
    • Set up all needed software & hardware in space and support actively on HUB platform creation
    • Show around first members, supporters & contributors into the space

    Community: 

    • Actively engage with our community and attract new partners, members & ambassadors to support good integration into the ecosystem and drive innovation
    • Identify and nurture relationships with community advocates to improve and promote the ecosystem community
    • Work closely with the HUBS thought leaders, startups and investors, identifying HUB experts and giving them the resources to shine (articles, social media, etc)
    • Act as the bridge between our HUB and the public and build relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and journalists

    Growth:

    • Capture brand feedback from the community and report it back to Marketing. Track the growth and engagement metrics of the community and continuously aim to improve the community atmosphere
    • Organize and manage community events & webinars to boost brand awareness and thought leadership
    • Work closely with Marketing to prepare documentation to push major HUB news, launches and iterative releases
    • Act as the voice of our HUB on Social Media while monitoring our HUBs image and perception

    Operations:

    • Be responsible and oversee all ongoing operational tasks like:
    •  Front Desk Management
    •  Facility Management
    •  Eventmanagement
    •  Relations & Partner management

    Your qualifications:

    • Academic degree in management, communications, PR, marketing or related field
    • 3+ years work experience as a community manager, general manager, PR manager or similar role with the focus on entrepreneurship & coworking
    • First experience in startups, management consulting or venture capital 
    • Experience in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube)
    • Experience in planning and leading community and customer experience initiatives
    • Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs
    • Outstanding problemsolving and analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative
    • Fluent in English, knowledge in Afrikaans/Dutch is a plus
