    Senior Human Resource Manager

    ERG Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a Senior Human Resource Manager.

    Primary Purpose

    • To support the HR Executive in the management of employee relations, talent management, change management, organisational and performance management, learning and development, and reward and recognition.
    • To lead the development, implementation and administration of Human Resource Initiatives, policies, and procedures.
    • To provide a professional HR service with timely advice, guidance and support to members of management and staff.

    HR Business Partnering :

    •   Administers various human resource plans and procedures for ERG Africa personnel.
    • Manages the development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, standard operating procedures and safe working practices, with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
    • Ensures compliance to employment equity, skills development, BBBEE (HR side) and payroll.
    • Accountable for the day to day operations of all employee/management.
    • Align the HR plan with the Company business plan and strategic goals
    • Manage and coordinate the Performance management process

    Employee Relations

    • Develop and ensure implementation of ER strategy aligned to HR strategy
    • Handles employee relations issues for the South African office e.g. grievances, disciplinary procedures etc.
    • Leads employee relations activities in the country, responsible for colleague engagement and for leading union/works council/colleague representative negotiations and consultations, as appropriate.
    • Conduct and provide advisory support to line managers regarding employee relation matters
    • Represent the company at the CCMA 

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Analyse compensation practices and policies in all entities and makes recommendations to create a compensation structure that is fair and manageable
    • Responsible for the annual payroll budget planning process.
    • Liaise with finance and management to ensure accuracy of payroll budget data.
    • Manages expatriate process for all Africa entities according to Group policies
    • Oversees the completion of salary surveys and analysis of current market trends to ensure compensation structure alignment. 
    • Drives job evaluations process and liaises with management to ensure proper interpretation of compensable factors. 

    HR information systems and administration

    • Accountable for the system optimization, data accuracy and maintenance of human resource information system records which will be the driver for data to payroll and compiles reports from the database.
    • Assists in maintaining organization charts and employee directory.
    • Maintains HR information systems by ensuring updates of data in the systems and training of end users.
    • Manages HR data (HR data governance and security, HR data consolidation, HR master data quality assurance, HR payroll data transfer).
    • Manages HR reporting.
    • Maintains confidentiality of data and departmental security at all times.

    Talent Management

    • Facilitate the implementation of talent management and succession planning
    • Oversee the Recruitment and Onboarding process.
    • Develop and Implement talent strategy plans and skills development plans
    • Oversee the organizational development & design activities

    People Management / Development

    • Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work performance of subordinates.
    • Plans, organises, leads, and develops subordinates' work plans.
    • Promotes teamwork, provides support, manages and evaluates performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans and performance contracts for subordinates.
    • Recommends and approves development plans.
    • Develops and coaches team members and subordinates.

    Other objective and Ad-Hoc

    • Assists in ad-hoc human resources projects.
    • Performs other duties as required by Management.
    • Possibility of travel from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements  

    • A degree in Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Social Science or HR related field
    • Post Graduate/MBA will be advantageous.
    • At least 5 - 10 years’ experience in a generalist Human Resource management, of which 5 years should have been at a senior management level.
    • Knowledge of all appropriate legislation (BCEA, EE, LRA, Skill Development Act)
    • Extensive exposure to CCMA proceedings and Labour Court cases.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience of all Human Resources Management and related functions.
